A Berry Monochromatic Card

Have you ever started a project with something particular in mind, but as it came together it wasn’t quite what you wanted?  Well, today’s card is absolutely that situation.  But, I decided to roll with what I’ve got and produced this very Berry Burst Monochromatic card.

I wanted to use a sentiment that maintained the same color as my monochrome theme but still one that popped.  So I used some clear liquid adhesive on my sentiment stamp, much like ink, and stamped the words on my cardstock.  Next, I sprinkled some Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter so that it would adhere to the “sticky” sentiment.  Unfortunately the photos really do not do justice to the final product, but you can see that the words really do pop.

Sweet Treat for My Valentine

Tags

, , , , ,

With Valentines’ Day just around the corner it’s time to prepare sweet packaging for treats to our favorite Valentines.  I found these super cute triangle boxes on Pinterest recently and couldn’t wait to try them myself.

Valentine Treat / triangle treat box / Fox Builder Punch / Stampin' Up! / StampinBlessings.wordpress.com

I edited the measurements for my own purpose.  Using a 8-1/2″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Early Espresso Cardstock, I scored the long side at 3″ and 5-1/2.”  on the short end, I scored at 1-7/8″ and 3-3/8.”  This makes the section that will be punched with the Scalloped Top Punch smaller than the normal 2″ size, so I centered the CS before punching to ensure a uniform top.

There is a great tutorial for these boxes on fellow Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator’s site: https://stampingmom.com/tag/stampin-up-valentine-triangle-box/

Cross of Hope Glitter Window

The Hold on to Hope and coordinating Cross of Hope Framelits Dies are beautiful designs that offer crafters wonderful options for birthday, sympathy, and encouragement cards.  Today I paired these two with Garden Impressions DSP and Pacific Point cardstock to make this uplifting card for a dear friend.  And adding the Glitter Window technique enhanced this design to a higher level.

The Glitter Window technique is a fun and easy technique.  You can see just how easy this technique on this tutorial at Splitcoaststampers.com – all you need to do is to create an opening in your cardstock, cover with packing tape, and apply glitter the sticky portion in the opening.

Cross of Hope card / sympathy / Isaiah 46:4 / Garden Impressions DSP / Cross of Hope Framelits Dies / Hold on to Hope stamp set / glitter window technique / Stampin' Up! / StampinBlessings.wordpress.com

Usually when I create with this technique, I use a large square or oval opening with images behind – sort of like looking through a window when a snow storm is coming through the land.  This time I decided to use the Cross of Hope Framelits Dies to create almost a stained glass window effect.  I love that you can see the DSP design through the glitter in the cross too!

I used a card layout from pate 35 of the SU! Idea Book & Catalog as the inspiration for my card.  I didn’t have any ruffled ribbon, so instead I used some Tear & Tape Adhesive applied to the back of my DSP and adhered scrunched up polka dot tulle ribbon to create a similar look.

The Hold on to Hope stamp set has a beautifully written piece of scripture that was perfect for the inside of this card.

Animal Expedition Birthday Card Set

Tags

, , , , ,

I’m always in need of a quick birthday card for kids.  So I made a set of Animal Expedition birthday cards that I can have on hand whenever I’m in need.  These cards are perfect to stick on top a gift or to use as a gift card holder.  Another great use for this set is to give it as a teacher gift!

This Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper offers a great background for a gender neutral card.  Boys and girls alike will find these cards charming.  I was able to create 3 card bases from one sheet of 8-1/2″ x 11″ cardstock.  Each base is 3-5/8″ x 8-1/2″ so these are similar in size to the note cards & envelopes offered by SU!  I think these work great with or without an envelope.

Lets take a closer look at each one.

I decided to skip the stamping on these cards and instead used the Happy Birthday thinlits die to cut out my bold birthday sentiment in black.
