There is an awesome stamp set called Guy Greetings in the new in the 2015 Occasions Catalog. It made creating this very manly card super fun.
Look at all the great images that come in this set!
I’m not sure you can tell in this photo, but the black strip layered on the natural cotton ribbon is actually card stock. This technique is called Faux Suede and can be achieved by breaking down the paper fibers (my method is to run the paper through a crimp tool several times and then smooth out with a bone folder) and peel apart the layers exposing the inside of the card stock.
I achieved this worn look by roughing up the edges with my scissors and crumpling up the paper before adhering to my card base. Finally, I added some depth to the whole project by sponging ink into the worn parts, corners, ribbon, and sentiment banner. This set is perfect for the manly-men in your life!
