“Wet” and “Heat” Embossing are used interchangeably to describe the method of applying ink and embossing powder to cardstock, then melting the powder to create a raised effect.  But now there there is a newer product on my craft table – embossing paste!  While it does start out wet, you allow it to air dry to produce a hard, raised surface.

I used both embossing powder and paste on my project today.  Both are easy, fun, and rewarding, but you have to plan a little when using the embossing paste.  It is better suited for air-drying, so it may take quite a bit of drying time before you are able to complete your project.  On my layer of Blackberry Bliss, I applied Shimmery White Embossing Paste through some Colorful Doilies I used as stencils.  Then, I carefully removed the stencils and allowed the paste to cure overnight.

For the sentiment, I first inked my stamp with Versamark ink, then in Blackberry Bliss ink.  I stamped on a piece of cardstock, applied clear embossing powder, and heated it until fully melted.
