The Hold on to Hope and coordinating Cross of Hope Framelits Dies are beautiful designs that offer crafters wonderful options for birthday, sympathy, and encouragement cards.  Today I paired these two with Garden Impressions DSP and Pacific Point cardstock to make this uplifting card for a dear friend.  And adding the Glitter Window technique enhanced this design to a higher level.

The Glitter Window technique is a fun and easy technique.  You can see just how easy this technique on this tutorial at Splitcoaststampers.com – all you need to do is to create an opening in your cardstock, cover with packing tape, and apply glitter the sticky portion in the opening.

Usually when I create with this technique, I use a large square or oval opening with images behind – sort of like looking through a window when a snow storm is coming through the land.  This time I decided to use the Cross of Hope Framelits Dies to create almost a stained glass window effect.  I love that you can see the DSP design through the glitter in the cross too!

I used a card layout from pate 35 of the SU! Idea Book & Catalog as the inspiration for my card.  I didn’t have any ruffled ribbon, so instead I used some Tear & Tape Adhesive applied to the back of my DSP and adhered scrunched up polka dot tulle ribbon to create a similar look.

The Hold on to Hope stamp set has a beautifully written piece of scripture that was perfect for the inside of this card.
