Epic Celebrations

My boys recently started taking guitar lessons and have been rocking out almost every day for the last 3-4 months.  I love hearing them practice.  They are doing great and already know quite a few songs!  When I saw the Epic Celebrations stamp set in this years’ Sale-A-Bration brochure I just knew I had to get that electric guitar for my boys!

One of them will be celebrating a birthday this month, so I created this card just for him and colored the guitar to look like his.  I also I heat embossed it with clear emboss powder so it would have a realistic shine.  Then I fussy-cut out the guitar and popped it on my card front using foam adhesive.  I think he is going to love this card!

The inside of the card uses a happy birthday sentiment from last year’s hostess rewards program and just a shadow of the electric guitar to bring the inside and outside of the card together.

My Style-December 2017 Paper Pumpkin

Tags

I just got the opportunity to use my December 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit, and I love it!  It is so fun, and even has glitter!!!  The laser cut pieces add a nice delicate touch. Here is a little video on how to create the projects in the kit:

I typically like the Paper Pumpkin kits as originally designed, but I also like to see what kind of variations I can come up with by only using the products in the kit.  This time of year I need a lot of birthday cards, so it was super nice to see that the stamp set accompanying this kit included a birthday salutation.

I didn’t make a lot of changes in my version, but I liked the idea of the leaves and flowers coming together for one card.  I also scrunched up the ribbon and curled my butterfly wings for added dimension.  The last change I made was to add some of the leaves to the back flap of my note card envelope.  Since there were extras in the box, why not?! 🙂

Here are the items I used for today’s project:

Have a closer look at my December 2017 Paper Pumpkin alternate project.  These kits are great as they are, but also offer you the opportunity to alter them with your own personal style.  Give it a try!

Picture Perfect Birthday

Hello friends!  Today, the Sisters In Stamping designers were asked to share projects featuring products from the 2018 Occasions Catalog.  There is a very special type of designer series paper available that I couldn’t wait to try.  It is the Picture Perfect Party DSP!

One side of each sheet showcases large, photographed images while the other side features smaller patterns that you can use for many occasions.  SU! concept artists designed the patterned side and made a few birthday projects with those designs.  Then those party hats, presents, and more were photographed and added to the other side of the Designer Series Paper.  It’s the perfect combination of two kinds of design.

January represents a bunch of birthdays in my family, so I’ll be using this paper a lot!

This was a quick and easy project, but offers so much interest with the various images and textures.  Washi tape was used as a fun element to adhere my candle dsp to the cardfront.  Then I layered two cutouts from the Happy Birthday thinlits in turquoise glimmer paper and Lemon Lime Twist cardstock for a nice pop.

Welcome to 2018!

Happy New Year, y’all!  I am really excited about 2018 and all the possibilities ahead of us.  And to get my blog off to a great start this year, I created this super quick-and-easy winter themed card.

Good things are going to happen card / winter theme card / Flurry of Wishes stamp set / You've Got This stamp set / Color Theory DSP / Everyday Label Punch / Stampin' Up! / StampinBlessings.wordpress.com

I simply took a piece of Berry Burst Color Theory DSP and stamped the snowflakes from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set in various colors and sizes.  Then I stamped my “good things” sentiment from the You’ve Got This stamp set.

Good things are going to happen card / winter theme card / Flurry of Wishes stamp set / You've Got This stamp set / Color Theory DSP / Everyday Label Punch / Stampin' Up! / StampinBlessings.wordpress.com

My sentiment was punched out the image using the 2″ circle punch.  Behind, I added a bit of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper punched out with the Everyday Labels punch for added sparkle and dimension.  And for some added texture, I wrapped the cardfront with a bit of Crumb Cake ribbon (mine was retired, but there is a great alternative in the product listings below).

With the start of the new year, there are so many things to celebrate!  That’s right, Stampin’ Up!’s annual Sale-A-Bration promotional sale has begun.

But that’s not all!  We also welcome the 2018 Occasions Catalog!  Yippee!
