This week I tried a new technique called Cling Wrap Background. I *kinda* followed this tutorial from Splitcoaststampers.com – embedded here for your ease in viewing:
The difference in my version of the technique is that I used my Stampin’ Markers to write on the cling wrap, then I used my mister filled with shimmer paint and rubbing alcohol. Please note that rubbing alcohol dries MUCH faster than water, so there is less playing time in smooshing your colors together, but you have a ready background in no time flat.
Here is a close up of the shimmer paint and smooshed colors that make up my background. I only used two ink colors – Pacific Point and Flirty Flamingo – but you could easily use 2-4 coordinating colors.
Here are all the products I used for today’s project:
Here is a final look at today’s project. Please remember to head over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to see what the other designers did with their Cling Wrap Backgrounds!
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
