I have a dear friend that I haven’t seen in an while, and I wanted to send her a special card just to let her know that I’ve been thinking about her.  Since her favorite color combination is pink (Blushing Bride) and gold, you can see this card was specifically designed with her in mind.  The card front is simple layering with a feminine style.  The Flower Shop stamp set with Blushing Bride ink and Tea Lace Paper Doily adds texture and depth without a lot of fuss.

The wow factor for this project is actually found inside…it’s a pop-up card!  I used the Kettle and Cups thinlits dies to create this fun scene.  I didn’t want to take away from the images, so I left the rest blank.  I will be writing my friend a personal message about getting together for tea for some much needed reconnecting time.

Here is a closer look of the pop-up design.  The trick to using thinlit dies with this technique is to position your top cutting plate so that it does not fully cover the thinlit.  For the kettle, you can see that I did not cut the bottom corner so that the kettle remained attached to my card stock.
